About Me

Who am I?

My name is Eric Kang, I'm a 2nd year Comp Sci and Maths student. I was one of this year's Careers Directors and I am currently interning at Wisetech Global as an Associate Software Engineer.

I've been a part of CSESoc for... forever. Joining the Careers subcommittee in 2023 as a first year, I never expected to have joined such a lovely community of people and to have made so many friends along the way. Feeling like I had more to give to the society, I became the director of that very same portfolio to try and provide others the same amazing experience that I personally was blessed with.

Spending another year in CSESoc as a director was such a rewarding experience and one of the focal points of my year. But yet again, I run into the situation where I feel like I have more to give and I don't see myself leaving everything behind just yet.

Why specifically am I running for treasurer? I would say I embrace the challenge of responsibility, enjoy interacting with external parties and believe I can dedicate myself to CSESoc most effectively through this role over others. Learn more about my vision in the Vision tab!

Vision

Money not invested, is wasted.

I believe my task will be to improve the livelihood and experience of CSE students by ensuring finances are directed to where they are needed. Just as I am committed to the transparent, honest and ethical management of money, I am equally dedicated to working with my fellow executives to think of new ways for CSE to be empowered through the appropriate reinvestment of our funds into both the internal and external community.

Whether it will be powering higher quality careers or educational events to ensure students are prepared for the big step into the industry, boosting our social events to make the uni experience that extra bit more memorable, or even making the venture into philanthrophy to support those who are disadvantaged, I am excited to employ my problem solving skills and creativity to develop innovative strategies for improving CSE.
